About this Event

IMPACT training is the state-required training for all potential foster and respite families. The program is 24 total hours. Instead of stretching the sessions over the course of 6 weeks, the full training will be done in two weekends (Friday-Sunday).

Friday November 2nd 6pm-10pm

Saturday November 3rd 9am-1pm *with CPR/First Aid training (only $25/person) from 1pm-5pm.

Sunday November 3rd 2pm-6pm

Dinner will be provided on the Friday night session. Snacks will be available throughout.

IMPACT was developed by the Georgia Department of Human Resources Division of Family and Children Services to prepare resource families for the joys and challenges of fostering and adopting. IMPACT addresses the entire service continuum from initial inquiry through completion of the family evaluation.

IMPACT stands for Initial Interest, Mutual Selection, Pre-Service Training, Assessment, Continuing Development and Teamwork. The curriculum helps potential resource families to make an informed decision about their desire to resource parent, to enhance skills for parenting and nurturing children, and to clarify the resource parent’s role in the social service continuum.
