We’re thrilled and honored to play a small part in your adoption journey. All applications are welcome, but funding is limited. Just know, we will prayerfully consider your application. We’re sensitive to the Holy Spirit’s leading when choosing a family, that we believe, are equipped to provide a child with a loving, Christ-centered home, consistent with the values of The Church of Joy.

What is the grant amount?
This grant is supported through fundraising efforts at The Church of Joy. We cannot know, from year to year, how much we will accumulate. We can say, the past several years we have raised between $1500-$2000. We continually thank God for the generosity of his people that give toward orphan care.
Deadline and Guidelines
Our grant is awarded annually on our Orphan Sunday service (November 17, 2024).
The deadline to apply is two weeks before our Orphan Sunday Service.
Adoptive families that are active members of the Church of Joy are given first consideration for this grant.
We prefer to meet and invite families that receive this grant to our Orphan Sunday event. Adoptive families residing in our local area will be given first consideration for this grant.
Applications cannot be submitted post-placement.
Your application is complete after you successfully submit all references and documents outlined in the PDF application file. If a portion of your application is not complete by the deadline, we cannot include you in the list of candidates.

NOTIFICATION OF RECEIPT AND SELECTION
You will receive an email response, confirming we have received your complete application. Please make sure to have all required documents before submitting.
If your family is selected for our grant, you’ll receive a phone call with the next steps.
If your family isn’t selected, you will receive an email. All decisions are final. Please do not press for answers as to why you weren’t selected. We prayerfully consider all applicants. Remember, resources are limited. We will continue to pray for your adoption, and are happy to provide you with a list of other grant opportunities.
what you’ll need
Your completed and approved home study or home study update from a licensed 501(c)3 adoption agency.
Copy of I-800 or other citizenship eligibility document (for international adoption)
Your adoption agency and case worker’s information.
The first two pages of your federal tax return (please do not send the entire tax return) for the most recent year available.
Your home church’s information including your Pastor’s email address.
A family photo or video testimony (include your referral photo if available).
Completed Joy Adoption Grant letters of reference. If you already have reference letters with similar content and sources, you can submit those instead.
