WHAT does this program offer?

What do I need to know about the GED test?

  • The GED test covers four subjects: Language Arts, Social Studies, Science, and Math

  • Each part of the test covers one subject area

  • Each part of the test costs $40 (total cost is $160)

  • If you are 18 or older, you may sign up to take the GED Test at any time on GED.com

  • The GED Test is administered only at approved sites and is totally computerized

  • Southern Crescent Technical College has two approved sites (Griffin and Thomaston)

What’s next after this program?

It is increasingly necessary in today’s technical and global economy for a person to have an education beyond high school equivalency to be competitive in the job market. We strongly urge our students and graduates to pursue education beyond the GED.

  • Our Transition Coordinator can assist students and graduates as they explore career interests and begin the college and financial aid application process.

  • Additional information for enrolling in credit programs at Southern Crescent Technical College can be found at sctech.edu/futurestudents
