HOW SHOULD I DRESS?
At Joy, we have no set dress code. We are more interested at what is on the inside than what is on the outside. As one of our members said, "Just come covered and comfortable." So dress up, or if you prefer, come casual.
IS THERE SOMETHING FOR MY CHILD?
Yes. There is a nursery available for birth-2yrs. On Sundays, we have Children's Church for ages 3 - 5th grade. The boys & girls will be dismissed following the Children's Time with Pastor Ron. On Wednesdays, we have age appropriate classes for all the boys & girls.
WHO IS THE CHURCH OF JOY AFFILIATED WITH?
Direct oversight and accountability are given by Pastor Jack Hollis of Associated Ministries. Jack is Pastor Ron's spiritual father in the Lord and he is the Pastor of Christian Center Church in Marianna, FL www.cccmarianna.org . We are also affiliated with the Church Foundational Network (CFN) founded by Ken Sumrall - www.cfnonline.org
WHAT KIND OF CHURCH IS THE CHURCH OF JOY?
Using today's terminology, JOY would be considered a non-denominational or inter-denominational Church. This is what some would call us, but we try to resist the use of titles and labels all together. Most of these titles and labels seem to keep the Body of Christ divided. Jesus' prayer in John 17 shows how He wants His family to be unified with the Father and with one another. It is our heart to see the Church unified and working together. We long to see people from every religious affiliation, background or walk of life to become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ. Our convictions are strong and our mission is clear. Here are some things you can expect in our Sunday & Wednesday Worship Services:
SUNDAY MORNING WORSHIP SERVICE (10:35 12:30pm typically)
Praise & Worship Time
Our praise & worship time is normally 30-45 minutes. During this time we all actively participate in worshiping God as a family. Our worship is expressed through singing, music, clapping, lifting our hands, kneeling, dancing and standing quietly. All of these expressions can be found in the Bible. You are welcome to join in with us. God enjoys the praises of His people.
The Message
Our Pastor brings us relevant, life changing messages right from God's Word. Messages tend to last 35-45 minutes. Message notes are usually projected on the video screen. Feel free to take notes. Following the message there is usually a time of prayer, reflection and response.
Spirit Led
It is important for us to be led by the Holy Spirit. Occasionally the Lord will speak to us through a prophecy, word of wisdom, word of knowledge or tongues & interpretation. All of these supernatural things can be understood more clearly by studying 1 Corinthians 12 & 14 and the Book of Acts. We serve a supernatural God. WEDNESDAY FAMILY NIGHT
SUPPER SERVED 5:30 - 6:30pm
BIBLE STUDY 6:45-8:15pm typically
You are invited to come and have supper with us every Wednesday. Serving time is from 5:30-6:30pm. It's a great time to get know each other. There is no charge for the supper, but donations may be given to help with the cost of the meal. At 6:45pm our Bible Study time begins. Children of all ages have classes designed just for them. Junior & Senior Teens have Bible studies directed to their needs. Pastor Ron leads a Bible study in the sanctuary for adults. These classes and lessons will build and strengthen your life. Invest in your faith. The returns are out of this world.
