About this Event

We are so excited for Summer Youth Camp this year! This will be our first time hosting our own camp schedule and our first time at the beach. The cost is lower than it has ever been at $250. If you’re in 7th-12th grade, we want you to join us! We just need a $40 deposit by March 27th.

  • Youth Fundraisers help our students go to camp for cheap! We work hard every year to raise as much money as possible to help parents get their kids to camp. Make sure your student participates so they can get credit.

  • There will be a Camp Parent Meeting on Wednesday Night May 22nd to go over all the final details and collect any remaining balances.

  • Our camp will be held at the Laguna Beach Christian Retreat in Laguna Beach Florida. Check out their website: www.christiancamp.com

  • We will be staying in the “Lazarus House”. This is a house with a secondary dorm to separate guys from girls. Check out the house here: www.christiancamp.com/accommodation/lazarus-house

  • Check back in April for our Camp Schedule and Packing list.

  • There will be additional activities available on the schedule for an additional cost (such as a water park). These options will be made clear at the time our schedule is released.

Refuge Youth: Christmas Movie Marathon & Fantasy in Lights

About this Event

Hey all you cotton-headed-ninny-muggins! We have a long day ahead of us!
Refuge Youth is hosting a 7 hour non-stop Christmas movie marathon starting at 10am at Josh's house! Come watch Christmas movies 'till you black out from the holiday cheer.

But it doesn't stop there! During our last movie, we will eat a holly-jolly dinner and then load ourselves into Santa's summer sleigh (aka your parent's minivan), drive over to Callaway Gardens and board the "jolly-trolley" for the Fantasy in Lights at 7pm. The tour lasts for approximately 1 hour, we'll hit the gift shop while we're still feeling the commercial Christmas spirit, and then be back at The Church of Joy by 10pm.

The cost for Callaway tickets: $21/adult $10.50/child 5 & under are free
You are responsible for your own ticket. Buy them as soon as you can! This night is value pricing so the tickets may sell out faster.

What to bring:

  • A blanket and Pillow for the movie marathon, if you're a movie snoozer (we may or may not put "moose tracks" on your head)

  • Your favorite snacks and soft drinks for the marathon (lunch and dinner will be provided)

  • A jacket and blanket for the Fantasy in Lights (it gets North Pole cold on the trolley, ya'll)

  • Extra spending money for the gift shop / snacks at Callaway (if you feel like paying too much for that frosty the snowman ornament)

  • Every bit of Christmas cheer you can possibly muster

Refuge Youth: Judgment Journey

About this Event

Judgment Journey is an experience you will never forget!

Since 1997, Faith Baptist Church in LaGrange creates a walk through experience of End Times events as recorded in the book of Revelation. These events are creatively interpreted (similar to the "Left Behind" books and movies), and presented in a 45 minute multi-sensory presentation.

Judgment Journey was never intended to be a "scary" event. But there is disturbing content as the experience is built upon the idea of a raptured church and a time of tribulation and great trouble upon the earth.

Our 6th-12th Grade Youth will be traveling to Lagrange on the evening of October 13th. We will arrive 30mins prior to our "walk-time". The Cost of the event is $18 (includes $ to help with a van rental). Plan to bring extra money if you want drinks/snacks or t-shirts.

Time slots for this event sell out quick! We had to pre-purchase our tickets over a month in advance. We secured 18 tickets for our time slot.

Refuge Youth: Reverse Halloween Outreach

About this Event

Our Refuge Youth students will be hosting a "Reverse Halloween" outreach. This involves visiting a neighborhood in our area, and handing out bags of candy before the big night. This will be a great way for our youth to connect to our community, introduce themselves, introduce our Church and take prayer requests.

Two ways you can help:

  • Starting on Sunday September 30th, Refuge will be collecting candy donations. Drop them off in the foyer. We need a lot of it!!

  • Accompany our youth on Sunday October 28th, as we go house to house with candy and prayer from 5-7pm. Join us back at Joy for testimonies from 7:30-8:30pm.

families with lower-income. This is a large property with 340 units and many families with young children reside here. Student Life comes each summer and they are thrilled to have some summer programming for their children!

Leave Joy at 9am Sunday, Return approx 4pm Thursday

Location: Covenant College, Lookout Mtn. Georgia

EVERY STUDENT NEEDS TO BE:

Prayerful – The best way to prepare for your mission project is through prayer. Remember, your ministry at the site consists not only of the work you do, but also your interactions with your contact and the way you represent the Church as a whole to the community you serve.

Servant-minded – Come prepared to do everything they ask with excellence. As the leader, you set the tone for your group.

Flexible – Student Life does everything possible to prevent changes. However, plans do sometimes change.

This year's camp theme:
I AM (Exodus 3:14)
Student Life Camp 2018 will explore the characteristics of Yahweh, the one and only living God (Deuteronomy 6:4), as experienced by Moses in Exodus 3-4. Rather than reduce God to a single attribute like "love" or "judge," your students will encounter an Almighty creator God who is above us, with us in His Son Jesus (who declared His own divinity with the "I AM" statements recorded in John), and worthy of our trust because He will never change or fail. Unlike our current culture which suffers from intense "god" confusion, your students will have a clear picture of not only God's character, but also how He relates to His children. They will return home with a firm theological and relational foundation to form a God-centered worldview and decision-making process.
